Software / Simulation Engineer

Software Development

Model and Simulation Integration Engineer

AASI is seeking Model and Simulation professionals for challenging positions at our Schriever Air Force Base, CO worksite. The successful candidate will support the Missile Defense Agency’s Engineering Simulation program. This position involves hands-on support for MDA’s distributed software threat simulation used in the testing of and training on MDA’s tactical systems. Tasks include installation and configuration of the simulation software, troubleshooting and root cause analysis of anomalies and defects, and providing technical support during various MDA activities. Travel might be required.

Requirements:
The candidate must have a BS in Engineering, Mathematics or Computer Science, have a working knowledge of the Linux operating system (or other Unix variants), and hold a DoD security clearance. The candidate must have strong written and verbal communication skills, participate in document reviews, attend limited meetings, provide status as requested, and collaborate with team members in person and electronically. The candidate will be expected to be self-sufficient in the execution of all integration responsibilities within six months

Configuration and Data Manager

AASI is seeking Configuration Management/Data Management professionals for challenging positions. Successful candidates will be self-starters and able to succeed will minimal supervision. The Simulation Configuration and Data Management Planning and Control Manager performs Configuration and Data Management Control of a large, distributed Training System Simulation which also includes limited operations support to Warfighter training. Work location is at Schriever AFB, CO.

The successful candidate will develop, implement, track, and control all CM and DM processes, products, and artifacts in support of a large distributed training system simulation. Responsibilities include developing and complying with CM and DM procedures, ensuring document and data management procedures are utilized, identifying Configuration Items and ensuring they are under CM ownership for tracking and reporting. This also includes tracking all software received by product developers and all products developed by the project. Additionally, you will track all HW/SW sustainment issues and ensure that they are captured in the project’s Trouble Reporting System. Duties will also include performing configuration audits and interfacing with Quality Assurance and Management teams as required. In addition to the daily CM/DM duties, candidate may be required to backfill personnel supporting daily training operations during periods of personnel absence or surge conditions. The candidate must be willing to work off hour shifts as part of a scheduled crew as required. The individual will work closely with a mission-focused team that plans, conducts, and supports missile defense training events for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA), the Warfighter, and other missile defense stakeholders.

Requirements:

The candidate must process a Bachelors of Science Degree, a DoD security clearance, and be experienced with the Linux operating system. Further, they must be able to adapt to short term deadlines, work well under pressure and have the ability to communicate effectively with multiple organizations.

System Simulation Engineer

AASI is currently seeking simulation/systems integration engineering professionals for development, integration, fielding, and sustainment activities of a large simulation and distributed training system at Schriever AFB, Colorado. In addition to the qualifications listed below the ability to provide verbal and written communications in a clear and concise manner is essential. You must also be a team player with the ability to interact professionally with customers, co-workers, and AASI management. Additionally an active Security Clearance is required.

Primary responsibilities include the integration & interoperability of Hardware in the Loop (HWIL) and a distributed simulation framework with weapons and sensor models. Tasking requires involvement in the planning and coordination of software updates among organizations to facilitate seamless integration of evolving components within a large product suite. Tasks include loading, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of various modeling and simulation components within the simulation environment. Integration efforts will include the analysis and troubleshooting of various tactical messaging protocols and knowledge of networks, protocols, and related tools (e.g TADIL-J/Link16, VMF, B-Series, BXS/XML, ADIP formats). System administration experience with Linux based Operating Systems, System Security, and maintenance of Commercial-off-the-shelf (COTs) products such as Java and MySQL is also highly preferred.
