Cyber Security Administrator
AASI is seeking a Linux Systems Administrator to support defense training systems. The successful candidate will ssist in maintaining a Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating system-based architecture for warfighter training. Work location is on Redstone Arsenal, AL
Responsibilities include performing administration, monitoring, communications security, and cyber security functions. Maintaining and utilizing standard operating procedures required to support cyber security capabilities. Responsible for gathering metrics, reporting and updating incidents, and maintaining network configuration management. Supporting DoD Computer Emergency Readiness Teams (CERT) with security incident handling requirements in accordance with publications, directives and other applicable authorities.
Additionally, the selected candidate will conduct Security Engineering in accordance with best security practices and guidelines provided in the DoD 8500.2, DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), and National Institute of Standards and Technology. You will develop sustain the system architecture with updates and Cyber Security Controls. You will be responsible for maintaining drawings in accordance with the Configuration Management baseline; planning for and ensuring that changes and modifications made to the security architecture are evaluated, tested and captured in architecture, design, test, and risk management documentation. You will plan, manage, maintain, and support Government classified connectivity accreditation activities as required and support special purpose Cyber Vulnerabilities Assessment Tool testing. The successful individual will work closely with a mission-focused team that plans, conducts, and supports training events for multiple stakeholders.
**Requirements:**
– Current CompTIA Security+ certification
– Must be able to obtain/maintain required security clearance
– U.S. Citizenship required
– Strong Linux system administration experience
– Knowledge of DoD cyber security requirements and compliance tools
– Understanding of DoD security policies and procedures
– Experience with security compliance management systems preferred
– Background in defense systems and operations preferred
– Ability to adapt to short-term deadlines and work well under pressure
– Strong communication skills and ability to work with multiple organizations
